  • [ ] Within one month: Do one “technique under fatigue” session—after every 3 minutes of high intensity, immediately do one set of dismount/remount, 8 sets.
  • [ ] Ongoing: Film yourself at every practice session and find the pauses you can’t see yourself.
  • [ ] Safety: Increase running volume gradually, clean wounds thoroughly, bring dry clothes in winter, and confirm the venue is legal and safe.

CX technique is worth practicing not just for racing. The ability to dismount, shoulder, and control slides pays direct dividends in every riding scenario you’ll ever encounter—dismounting when you hit rocks on a gravel route, shouldering your bike up stairs on a mountain bike trail, or relaxing your upper body on a wet asphalt corner. The twenty minutes you spend on the grass will pay for itself in many unexpected places down the road.
