A scenic 2.52 km climb gaining about 140 m at an API average of 5.6% through Longjing tea country near West Lake. ## Overview This short climb follows Longjing Road through tea fields and village streets before joining the Manjuelong Road area. It is a familiar introductory hill for Hangzhou riders and fits naturally into West Lake, Meijiawu or Manjuelong loops. The scenic roads also serve residents, visitors and motor traffic. ## Climb analysis The canonical segment is 2.52 km with about 140 m of ascent, an API average of 5.6% and a maximum of 11.4%. The gentle opening encourages overpacing; short ramps and bends later provide the real load. A smooth cadence is more efficient than repeatedly attacking each ramp. ## Riding tips - Warm up around West Lake before starting. - Keep the first half conversational, then build gradually. - Slow near village entrances, tea shops, pedestrians and parked cars. - Early mornings are quieter than holiday afternoons. - Carry water rather than relying on shop hours. - Descend cautiously over damp grit and around visitors. Longjing and Manjuelong roads are public scenic-area roads with no identified permanent bicycle ban or long-term closure. Holiday, event and congestion controls may change traffic movements; obey police and abandon timed efforts in crowds. Non-holiday mornings in March–May and September–November; cancel for extreme heat, ice, heavy rain, dense fog or temporary controls.
