A compact Yuen Long training climb gaining about 136 m in 1.69 km at roughly 7.3%, finishing at the country park car park. ## Overview The route climbs the paved Tai Tong Shan Road and finishes at the Tai Tong Country Park car park, a principal gateway to the sweet-gum woods and Tai Lam Country Park. It works well as a short training hill on quiet days, but becomes a busy recreation corridor during the winter foliage season. The road is shared with buses, cars and pedestrians. ## Climb analysis The complete Strava mother segment is 1.69 km with about 136 m of ascent and an API average of 7.3%. Exploration found fewer than two reliable subsegments, so the formal route retains the mother segment instead of forcing an artificial split. The climbing is concentrated with little recovery; settle early and accelerate only near the car park if comfortable. ## Riding tips - Treat the first half as a sustained climb, not a sprint. - A compact crank with a 28T–32T cassette is normally adequate. - Fill bottles in Tai Tong; do not rely on supplies at the car park. - Keep left, single file and predictable around buses and cars. - Slow early for dense pedestrian traffic during foliage season. - Brake before bends; wet leaves and pavement increase stopping distance.
