The main Nukabira-side ascent of Mikuni Pass starts on National Route 273 at roughly 669 metres, passes the southern forests of Daisetsuzan National Park and the Matsumi Bridge landscape, and reaches Hokkaido’s highest national-road pass at about 1,139 metres. Verified by the API and a 1,340-point high-resolution stream, the canonical Strava segment is 10.76 kilometres with approximately 470 metres of climbing. Its altitude datum was 15.6 metres high, so a constant correction aligned it without changing gain. Exploration found no safe child segment beyond the canonical mother; rather than using branches or reverse segments, the route was divided into three contiguous terrain sections with zero-distance seams. This is the final concentrated climb of the longer ride from Nukabira Onsen, and the summit café is seasonal. Check Route 273 and cancel for snow, ice, blizzards, fog, severe wind or wildlife alerts.

Route Overview
