Mount Rokko: Sakasagawa to Ikkenjaya

A classic 11.30 km east-Rokko climb gaining about 887 m from Sakasagawa Station to Ikkenjaya. ## Overview The paved public route leaves Sakasagawa and follows Hyogo Route 16 through residential streets and east-Rokko forest to Ikkenjaya. It is distinct from the Omote and Ura approaches. ## Climb analysis Three real Strava subsegments total 11.30 km and about 887 m ascent, roughly 7.8%. The sustained work begins after Kabutobashi. Strava's zero-ascent API value is wrong. ## Tips - Obey lights and pace the urban opening. - Use gearing near 1:1. - Carry water. - Keep left through blind bends and watch leaves, gravel and grooves. - Manage brake heat downhill. - Cancel for rain, fog, snow or ice. Route 16 is public and Hyogo's live system showed no disaster closure when checked. It remains subject to preventive heavy-rain closure and winter snow/ice controls.
