What Are Strides?
Strides, also called pickups or accelerations, are 15-30 second relaxed accelerations near 95% sprint speed with full recovery.
They are not sprints or intervals. They are faster than 5K pace by about 30-60 sec/km, but short enough to avoid meaningful lactate buildup, leaving you sharper rather than tired.

Add strides after an easy run
Do them near the end of an easy run or right after it. Let the last kilometer ease down first; avoid stacking them onto hard workout days.
Technique Cues (4 Phases)

Relaxation > speed: the common mistake is forcing it with tight shoulders. Think smooth gliding, not fighting.
