Transition tips
- Helmet on before you touch the bike: it's a rule — grabbing the bike in T1 with an unbuckled helmet earns a penalty or DSQ; only remove it after racking.
- Elastic no-tie laces: slip your run shoes on in T2 and save 20–30s — no dizzy bending over.
- Lay gear in order of use: arrange kit front-to-back in the order you'll use it so wet hands and a high heart rate don't fumble it.
- Dry feet before shoes: sand sticks after the swim — towel off before bike shoes to cut blisters and hot spots on long course.
