Q: What if I only have one week left?
A: One week can still produce an effective taper. Use a gentle step-down to cut volume to half your usual amount, keep a streamlined version of intensity sessions, and do short wake-up efforts in the final 2-3 days. A one-week taper is slightly less effective than two weeks, but far better than no taper at all.

Next time you enter taper week, don’t be anxious. Trust the data, trust the plan, and trust that your past self has already built the fitness you need. All you have to do is quietly let the fatigue drain away, then show up with light legs and harvest that 3% that’s yours.
