  2. Adjust cycle length to your level: Beginners can follow a 2-week technique, 1-week volume cycle; competitive athletes can follow a 1-week technique, 3-week intensity cycle.
  3. The 2 weeks before a competition must be taper weeks: Regardless of where you are in the cycle, reduce volume to 50–60% in the two weeks before a race to allow full recovery.
  4. Record your technical state each week: Write a weekly technique feeling score (1–10) in your training log; long-term data helps identify patterns in technical progress.
  5. Stay flexible with life demands: Training plans need to adapt to real-life schedules. The order of technique weeks and volume weeks can be shifted as needed—there is no need to strictly follow a fixed sequence.
