The Utoro ascent of Shiretoko Pass begins near Horobetsu Bridge at roughly 16 metres and follows National Route 334, the Shiretoko Crossing Road, to the pass at about 738 metres. Verified by the API and a 3,128-point high-resolution stream, the canonical Strava segment is 13.40 kilometres with approximately 720 metres of climbing. Its vertical datum was about 66.6 metres too high, so a constant correction aligned the summit with the official elevation without changing gain. Two genuine Strava sections and three terrain fills cover the complete route with zero-distance seams. The road crosses a World Natural Heritage landscape with views of Mount Rausu and the Sea of Okhotsk, but brown-bear danger is real. Check Shiretoko Foundation, Shari and road-authority notices every time, and cancel for bear alerts, winter closure, fog, severe wind or ice.

路線概述

知床峠宇登呂側從斜里町宇登呂、幌別橋附近約海拔 16 公尺處出發,沿國道 334 號知床橫斷道路穿過世界自然遺產核心山域,抵達標高約 738 公尺的知床峠。前段離開鄂霍次克海岸與宇登呂聚落,中段在樺木林與高山植被間持續上升,峠頂可近距離仰望羅臼岳;能見度極佳時也可望向根室海峽方向。這裡不是一般近郊訓練坡,而是棕熊頻繁活動、冬季長期封路、氣候變化快速的偏遠道路。是否騎乘應以即時道路與野生動物公告為最高優先。
