My complete answer is: It is a legal supplement with relatively solid research support, low side effects, and the potential to help you squeeze out 1% to 3% at critical moments—provided you use the right dose (about 6-13 mmol), get the timing right (2-3 hours before the event), have tested it in training first, and avoid antibacterial mouthwash during the supplementation period.

It’s not a miracle. It won’t replace the training you skipped, and it won’t suddenly add massive power to an elite athlete. But if you’re one of the many age-group riders in Taiwan—working a day job, training on weekends, aiming for a safe finish or a podium spot in your category—then you fall squarely into the group most likely to benefit, and this glass of magenta juice is indeed worth a serious try.

Put it within the framework of “stacking marginal gains,” together with your sleep, hydration, carbs, and tapering, to form the complete performance puzzle. Each piece alone looks unremarkable, but assembled together, they are the confidence behind that final step before the cutoff line.

At your next race, consider putting that bottle of beetroot juice you’ve already tested and dosed correctly in your feed bag. Wishing you ride efficiently, run light, and still have the energy to cross the finish line smiling.
