Combination with Other Ergogenic Aids

Nitrate and caffeine work through different mechanisms and may theoretically be additive, but the evidence for combining them is inconsistent, and additive effects should not be assumed. Combining with sodium bicarbonate also has uncertain additive value. It is recommended to first confirm your individual response to nitrate on its own.

But it is selective: if you are a mid-pack rider heading to altitude or racing at high intensity, you stand to gain the most; if you are an elite with top-tier economy, keep expectations low, and always test your gut in training first.
