Northern Cross-Island Highway Mingchi

One of the signature long climbs on the Northern Cross-Island Highway (Beiheng) at the Yilan end: Starting from Baite Bridge on Route 7 (approximately 330 meters elevation), this climb spans 19.45 kilometers with a total ascent of about 965 meters and an average gradient of 4.3%, culminating at Mingchi Lodge, situated at roughly 1,150 meters elevation and perpetually shrouded in mist.
