這段湯布院TT走的是由布岳一帶，屬於連結大分與熊本阿蘇、被譽為「九州最美、日本頂級絕景公路」的やまなみハイウェイ（Yamanami Highway）其中一段。日本車友介紹由布岳這段的特色是「沒有太陡的斜面、從起點就一路穩定爬」，是條可以放鬆享受風景的爬坡。

實測10.42公里、爬升470公尺，平均坡度只有4.5%，是本系列裡最親民的一條。對台灣車友來說，這條非常適合當作やまなみ縱走行程的開胃菜，或給爬坡新手建立信心。以湯布院溫泉為起點，沿途是九重連山、阿蘇國立公園的大景，坡緩景美，是純粹享受騎乘的路線。
