Race-Day Notes

  1. Arrive early: Traffic control is in effect on race day; staying overnight in Puli the night before is recommended
  2. Warm-up: Use the waiting time to warm up on a trainer for 15-20 minutes
  3. Don’t go out too hard: Stay conservative for the first 10 km — the real battle comes in the later stages
  4. Qingjing resupply: The 7-11 at Qingjing is the last resupply point — make good use of it
  5. Stay warm: Put on all your warm clothing for the descent

After the Race

  • Take photos at Wuling to commemorate the finish (it gets crowded — be patient in line)
  • Be careful on the descent, as there are many sharp, steep turns
  • Head back to Puli for a well-earned celebratory meal
