This means that on the upper sections of Wuling, even if your perceived effort remains unchanged, your actual power output will be 12–15% lower than at sea level. This is a normal physiological response—there is no need to force higher output. Instead, switch to using RPE (rating of perceived exertion) as your pacing guide.

- Calibrate your power meter before the race: Temperature changes can affect power meter readings. Perform a zero offset calibration before starting on race day.
