Full of anticipation, I took the train to Hualien to start a cycling trip, but Typhoon Kompasu passing by and a cold front moving south disrupted all my plans. The originally planned big mountain ride was completely overturned, turning into a spontaneous, leisurely, and relaxed 'micro-eastward' no-menu soft ride.
