Setting off from Shimen Reservoir in the early morning twilight, this 'Little Taiwan' route, regarded as a hardcore challenge in the road cycling community, traces a complete outline of Taiwan across the maps of Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli. The first half races along Provincial Highway 15 and the West Coast Expressway (Provincial Highway 61), with riders drafting tightly against the headwind at high speed. However, after turning onto Provincial Highway 3 and County Road 37 in the latter half, a series of steep, rolling climbs relentlessly confronts the riders. With legs fatigued from over 200 kilometers, they face a brutal ascent of more than 2,000 meters, pedaling desperately as their bodies near their limits.
